BUILDING THE DOWNTOWN JACKSONVILLE DESERVES
Jacksonville’s downtown has the potential to become a destination worth talking about – worth exploring for both visitors and residents alike. The redevelopment of the Jacksonville Shipyards and construction of the Miller Electric Center, with an eye toward the Stadium of the Future, will transform our downtown into a thriving riverfront. A revitalized downtown will bring new jobs into the area, attract tourism revenue and drive momentum on additional development throughout the urban core.
HERE’S THE GAMEPLAN:
A REIMAGINED SPORTS & ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT
HELP US CONSTRUCT THE Miller Electric CENTER
In order to keep the Jacksonville Jaguars and its staff downtown during any potential renovations to TIAA Bank Field, we are constructing a state-of-the-art, 125,000-square-foot sports performance center — Miller Electric Center. Maintained by the Jaguars, the city-owned performance center will contain locker rooms, training and recovery areas, medical support facilities, a weight room, dining facilities, office space and a draft room.
Construction is underway and the center is slated to open prior to the Jaguars’ 2023 season.
