COMMUNITY CORNER: COACH PEDERSON VISITS WOLFSON CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL
Head Coach Doug Pederson and his wife, Jeannie, stopped by Wolfson Children’s Hospital. During their visit, the Pedersons spent time with the excited children, distributed Jaguars teddy bears and shared gifts to get the Wolfson warriors ready for football season! Doug and Jeannie, a former nurse, also took the time to show hospital staff their appreciation for all they do for Wolfson patients and their families.
IN THE HOMESTRETCH AT MILLER ELECTRIC CENTER
This month, sod at the outdoor (natural sod) and indoor (artificial turf) practice fields was set. Other milestones include the fan amenity grandstand seats being installed, scoreboards going up, landscaping and hardscaping work around the exterior of the building, and paving of the new player parking lot. Inside, flooring, lighting, ceiling treatments and painting progressed. As we inch closer to opening, DreamSeat recliners were also positioned in the team meeting rooms and auditorium.
SHIPYARDS UPDATES
On May 11 we received approval from the Downtown Design Review Board for minor design modifications to the Shipyards project. The Iguana Investments team has been working hand-in-hand with Four Seasons for more than a year to make minor architectural changes and enhance configurations for spaces like the hotel entrance, ballroom and event areas, outdoor pools and dining venues. We appreciate the DDRB’s approval and look forward to going vertical with the project later this year!
Site work continues to progress at the Shipyards and public marina. Our final building pad grading is nearly finished, and we’re preparing the site for the arrival of a concrete batch plant necessary to begin foundation work. Along E. Bay Street temporary sidewalks are being finished and will open in time for preseason.
EMPOWERING STUDENTS
Construction Ready recently brought 40 SkillsUSA students and advisors on a Miller Electric Center site tour. SkillsUSA, a non-profit organization, is a partnership of students, teachers and industry professionals working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. The SkillsUSA Framework helps empower students to “become world-class workers, leaders and responsible American citizens” by focusing on a mix of personal skills, technical skills grounded in academics and workplace skills.
