Shipyards Update
After months of vertical construction below ground, it’s expected that there will be above-ground action soon. The first of three tower cranes has arrived with two others being delivered and assembled over the next two weeks. All three will be operational by early April.
Following the completion of their respective foundations, the Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences and six-story office tower will start to take shape above ground. Once the structures are standing, the tower cranes will then be used to bring building materials, supplies, and other items in and out of the building’s higher levels. They’ll also assist with the topping out of floors.
In other news, crews have been installing a JEA chilled water line which will bring water to the hotel and office building. Additionally, this month, the Shipyards’ marina bulkhead’s sheet pile development is underway, and once completed, demolition of the existing marina will begin in the fall to make way for the new marina construction. The bulkhead stainless sheet pile serves as a vertical shoreline stabilization structure to helps retain soil.
