This morning, the full board of the Downtown Investment Authority met to review our development proposal for the Jacksonville Shipyards. Following committee approval last month, today the DIA board approved the resolution – unanimously. The momentum continues!
Today’s news marks another big 1st Down for Downtown Jacksonville, and we would not have been able to move the chains without your support. Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out to the DIA and make your voice heard.
We’re gearing up for the next play. Here’s an overview of our next steps for the Jacksonville Shipyards proposal:
Other developers or interested parties now have 30 days to submit proposals to the DIA. Any new proposal to the DIA would be subject to the same procedures, reviews and approval process.
If no qualified proposals are presented, our development plan will advance to City Council through proposed legislation filed by the Chief Executive Officer of the DIA, advancing us one step closer to a touchdown for all of Jacksonville.
