This month we received approval from the Downtown Design Review Board (DDRB) on the marina support building, event lawn and Riverwalk at the Shipyards. The redevelopment of the riverfront takes an even greater shape toward the future of entertainment and recreation in downtown Jacksonville.

This month, Denver-based Civitas was selected by the City of Jacksonville’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department to oversee Metropolitan Park’s design work. The organization solicited feedback on redesign recommendations of the park from the public. Met Park borders the Shipyards site to the east and the Jaguars have committed a $4 million investment over 20 years to maintaining the 19 acre park.

For National Volunteer Month, Jaguars staff dedicated the month of April to improving our community. Through 11 events, 76 front office team members volunteered more than 700 total hours of impactful work for the following non-profit organizations and companies: Changing Homelessness, Jacksonville Humane Society, Feeding Northeast Florida, United Way, Sulzbacher, The Arc Jacksonville, Mission House, Jacksonville Beach, Long Branch Elementary School and Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens.
